01. The Family Tradition
The story of Kayden’s Hot Chocolate™ began with a cherished holiday tradition created by Kayden’s Auntie Ree’shemah. Her signature hot chocolate bar became a favorite at her children’s school celebrations—bringing together laughter, conversation, togetherness, and lasting memories.
02. The Tradition Continues
Years later, when Kayden entered elementary school, the tradition continued with his classmates. As the children customized their cups, chose their toppings, laughed together, and proudly showed off their creations, we realized we weren’t simply serving hot chocolate. We were creating Big Smiles.
03. An Unexpected Inspiration
In late November 2025, an unexpected stop in New York City changed everything. While trying to fly standby to Portugal to join Auntie Ree’shemah, our standby plans shifted and gave us an unplanned holiday stop in the city. There, we watched rich hot chocolate twirling inside large dispensers as families lined up around a holiday ice rink. Seeing the excitement and smiles sparked one simple question: “Why don’t we have this at home?”
04. Bringing It Home
That unexpected New York moment sparked a bigger idea: bring the experience home to the San Francisco Bay Area. We wanted to create more than great hot chocolate. We wanted to recreate the warmth, excitement, family connection, and Big Smiles surrounding it...while building something that could inspire children to dream big and believe in what’s possible.
